The Glooper Game (Entertech)

The Glooper Game
Entertech
1988

Ah, Entertech. The makers of fine water guns until coming under fire (no pun intended) from every achtivist group out there. Despite their highly popular "realistic" sounding water guns based on various real world guns, the company found themselves stumbling a bit in 1988 when they released The Glooper Game.

Slime was sublime with kids of the 80's, and it made sense that incorporating them into play guns was the next obvious step. Kids loved it. Parents...Not so much. Stained clothing, ruined walls, slime all over the house. Yeah, what parent wouldn't be chomping at the bit for their children to have that kind of fun?

If you didn't pick up on the sarcasm, The Glooper Game didn't make big waves. Entertech released only one gun and refill packs before quickly fizzling out.

It's not too hard to find these on secondary markets, but it is a bit of a challenge to find one at a decent price. Loose guns sell for around twenty dollars, while mint in the package ones go for sixty to seventy. However, what you'll find are a lot of sellers trying to get over a hundred dollars for a new in the package gun.

Because it's an expendable product, buying the refill packs will set you back around thirty dollars per two pack. Loose ones don't seem to exist, and if they do, are few and far between.

  1. It was a great idea that was not so much fun. I still have my gun somewhere but it's been given some a paint makeover in an attempt to turn it into a scifi blaster.

  2. I have "The Glooper Game", unopened and still packaged in the original box + (2) two (also unopened) packages of "Glooper" refills/ammunition. Any interest in buying them? If so, let me know.
