I like Gwildor! Since we usually watch the 1987 movie and eat ribs and chicken on MOTU day I guess you could say he's a big part of our festivities! And of course, we always say, "I was going to share! I was going to share!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I think I am gonna get me some chicken and ribs now too!
DeleteNot realizing it's MOTU Day, I guess I will have to add it as an annual celebration now that I've picked up the Retro figures and most of the Super7 figures. Did you ever read or see the book - "Mastering the Universe - He-Man and the Rise and Fall of a Billion Dollar Empire" by Roger Sweet and David Wecker? I remember hearing about the book. On Amazon, there are only a few used copies and they go between $500-900.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that. I'm going to have to check that out, but doubt I'll be jumping on it if it's that much.
DeleteAlthough, before you drop a few hundred on the book, it's worth reading the 1 star reviews. I vaguely remember there was something weird about the book. So I read the reviews, and it seems to be a lot about the life of the disgruntled Roger Sweet and not much about MOTU. Anyway - interesting.
ReplyDeleteIs he the guy that says Mattel stole He-Man from him and that he wasted his life "giving" his ideas to them, while reaping all the reward financially?
DeleteI bought the book years ago. It's out of print and I doubt it'll show up again anytime soon. It's interesting but definitely disgruntled. I think it was Poe Ghostal who said it reads like a cross between a memoir and a court deposition.
DeleteStill sounds interesting.
DeleteI have a few posts up dealing with MOTU in last week... A video of my Origins collection, me reading the first mini-comic storybook, and a fumetti comic featuring Skeletor... Happy MOTU Day!
ReplyDeleteI've been checking out the posts. Have not seen the video yet.
