G.I. Joe Classified: Nerf

Ever wonder where those futuristic gun designs come from for the new G.I. Joe Classified line? Well, look no further than your local retail store's Nerf isle.

I know this isn't new information, but I thought I'd put together this quick post showing the comparisons between some of Nerf's guns and the recently released Cobra Island wave. All three of the Cobra Trooper's weapons are based on them, as well as Beach Head's rifle. Take a look.

Is it lazy? Yeah, maybe a little. But it does the job.

  1. It's definitely an interesting practice. I tracked down a few of Gung-Ho's weapons and their Nerf counterparts as well. As long as the weapons have magazines I'm happy.

    1. Which one is Gung Ho's? I'd like to add it to this post.

    2. Gung Ho's grenade launcher looks like the Nerf Ultra One. I thought I'd identified his bullpup styled rifle but I must have been mistaken. His shotgun looks just like one of the Halo shotguns and Hasbro is starting to release Nerf Halo Blasters, so that's a possible source of inspiration.

  2. Wow. That is interesting. Guess we'll be getting official versions of those soon. Wish I had those as a kid.

    1. I saw one of the Nerf Halo assault rifles (or maybe the battle rifle) at GameStop this week. Hasbro has really been branching out with the Fortnite, Overwatch, and Halo Nerf stuff. It'd be interesting to see some G.I. Joe branded stuff.

    2. Apparently there are some weapons in the Marvel Legends line which were also based on Nerf guns.

    3. The weapons from a number of figures from the X-Force and Deadpool series have been Nerf inspired for sure.
