  • Joker comes to Commissioner Gordon's house, shoots Barbara and takes the Commissioner with him
  • Barbara becomes paralyzed from the waist down
  • In a flashback of his origin, Joker dawns the garb of Red Hood
  • Batman gives Joker one last chance to let him help him, but he declines
  • Joker makes Batman laugh with a joke

  • Disturbing images and story - Don't read this if you have any aversions to graphic scenes
  • Story ends abruptly and with very little resolution or epilogue beyond Joker obviously being captured again

  1. I got this one when it first came out... It was a game changer for sure. I was stunned at what happened to Barbara and the fact that this was allowed to have ongoing consequences for the character for so long!

    1. I saw the animated movie first, then graduated to the comic. So for me, it wasn't until recent that I got exposed.
