Wrapping up my birthday was a delicious dinner out, and some gifts from friends and family. Before I dive in, if you haven't seen the numerous posts from today about my various outings, please consider checking those out.
For dinner, we headed to a local Korean barbecue joint called, The Qui.
They specialize in the all-you-can-eat fare of various meets and sides, and it was quite delicious.
This was followed by a slice of birthday cake from a local bakery. My girl got me a cannoli cake! Fantastic!
We sent my brother home with three slices, and a couple cannolis on the side. This was way too much cake for the two of us.
From there, I opened a few gifts from my mom, brother, and a friend.
From my buddy, Pete, I got two Prince related items, and a new Spider-Man mug. He bought me the mug I used for the longest time at work a year ago, and I was distraught when just a week or two ago, I broke it when I accidently dropped it. He was kind enough to gift me a new one.
My mom sent me two gifts. The first being a mini bookshelf with 400 books, also known as an anxiety shelf. See George's post on that. She also sent me the complete 80's series of Johnny Quest on DVD.
My brother got me the last two vinyl records for my wall, which I promptly framed, and had him climning up a ladder to put up, as well as a replacement Super Mario Bros. Game And Watch. I say replacement, because the one he initially got me got lost in the move.
My girl's youngest son got me an awesome McFarlane Spider-Man statue. I'd been eyeing these since first hearing about them, but ultimately opted out due to space constraints, but I can fit one or two among my collection.
All and all, I had a great day! Good times, good people, and some fun new things to add to my collection. I've got one more post coming in the next couple hours. Maybe stop by one more time for a bedtime story?

Food looks great. Happy Birthday! Let me know how the bookshelf goes. :-)
ReplyDeleteStill trying to convince Sandy to put it together for me. Seeing a lot of duplicates in the bag. That's kind of disappointing.
