Birthday Outings, Part IV: Game Haven and Bricks & Minifigs

I'm not a monster. While I'm all about my birthday being special, I do want other people to enjoy it as well. Because of this, in our various groups of outings, I wanted to go to a couple places that were specifically for my brother, and my girl. These were Game Haven, for him, and Bricks & Minifigs for both of them.

My brother has gotten on a kick were he's collecting Nintendo Game And Watches, and also on the hunt for an original TurboGraphx 16. Both he and my girl are also on the hunt for various Lego sets. Him, anything Super Mario related, and her, the Botanicals series. With this in mind, we first hit Game Haven, looking to check some things off his list.

They actually did have the original Japanese TurboGraphx, the Super CD-ROM2, but he didn't want that version.

Though he didn't end up purchasing anything, he at least got some needed information on step down power converters for his Japanese Famicon.

From there, we headed to Bricks & Minifigs.

This place specializes in new and retired Legos, selling both new in box, and traded in used, but complete versions. They also have multiple bins of pieces that you can dig through to get what you might be missing.

While neither of them found what they were looking for, my girl did get her name on a want list for a retired piece she's after. She also talked shop about potentially selling her Monsters sets to them. Interestingly, we found out that they'll actually give you more money if you build it yourself before turning it in, if it's used of course. Brand new in the box wouldn't be necessary to do so.

All and all, both were quant shops to walk through. I've got one more birthday related post on the horizon for today, so I hope you'll check back. I also hope you caught the other birthday outings related posts from earlier today, if not, maybe you want to go back and peruse those as well?
