The last stretch goal has been announced, and fans are mixed. While some enjoy the homage to the original "Mickey Mouse" Cobra Commander in six inch form, others are asking, "Why another Cobra Commander?" Meanwhile, others are asking, "Where is the smaller vehicle to tow on the hitch that Hasbro so predominantly pointed out during the initial announcement stream?"
The questions I want answered, "Is it enough to get us to 16,000 backers? And if so, will Hasbro offer a surprise in the form of a tier five? We're already over 15,000 supporters, and there's still thirty-nine days left in the campaign. Plenty of time for Hasbro to incentivize more customers.
Additionally, Hasbro announced yet another Target exclusive to have your card charged over and over for, but not delivered.
Not only is this just a repaint of the previously released Duke and RAM Cycle, but it costs twice as much! Hasbro's price hikes have gotten stupid!

I'm OK with the vintage Cobra Commander but hoping there will be more tiers. What would it be though? No on the repaint Duke and RAM. No on any Target exclusives. I canceled mine. I'll buy em later if I see em. Price point is past the tipping point. Only my favorites from now on. That includes SW Black Series and Marvel Legends.
ReplyDeleteWhat I hear frequently from people backing the tank is that they really want Hasbro to include something like an ASP to tow by the hitch. I think in general many were expecting some form of smaller vehicle to be included due to Hasbro pointing out the hitch specifically during the announcement stream.
DeleteI hear you on the Tiger Force Duke, and Hasbro pricing in general. They are going to kill a lot of their own momentum by pricing the average collector out. With an anticipated recession on the horizon, now is not the time to be raising prices, let alone DOUBLING them.
Many people already have to choose between gas and groceries. Toys will definitely take a back seat to necessities.
