Title: Marvel Team-Up
Issue Number: 44
Release Date: April 1976
Highlights
- Origin of Dark Rider
- I like how the artist and writer work together to create side panels of time from one perspective, but then the center of a two page spread conveys the story from another perspective - It works well to depict that time isn't standing still for the other characters in the story while other aspects are played out at the same time
- It's clarified that Vision did indeed take the time machine that Spider-Man took, but I wish this would have been clarified during the point in time when he first appeared
- Reference is made to The Amazing Spider-Man 5
- It's interesting that Marvel opted to weave Spider-Man with real historic events, in this case, the Salem witch trials
Sample page of the writing and drawing style noted above |
- Overall, while it's interesting that Spider-Man was inserted into real historic events, this particular scenario doesn't fit for him - The story would have worked better for all the other characters involved, omitting Spider-Man
- Story arc was too long for what it was about
Oddities
- Wow, Spider-Man calls Moondragon "baldy"
