For my birthday, my girl and I started early. Saturday, the 15th to be exact. We did this for two reasons. One, Sunday was supposed to be raining. Two, with work on Monday, we didn't want to spend all day out, only to have to race home, and jump in bed for the next day. Going on Saturday let us do things (somewhat) at our own pace.
We spent the day in Fredericksburg, a town we'd been to many times. Here, our first stop was Massaponax Flea Market. It's a place we'd been to before and found to be quite enjoyable. Which is why I'm sad to say that today's trip was kind of a bust. Though there was a fair amount of stuff to look through, a lot of shops had closed up permanently, or simply weren't open.
Between the two of us, we found nothing worth picking up. This was actually something we heard echoed from multiple people there.
The problem this created for us was that we expected to spend more time there than we did, and by the time we left, most places still weren't open for the day. As such, we had to pivot and come up with an alternate plan.
That plan coming later today...
