Highlights
- First appearance of Willard Stein, and Gunther Stein
- This is a fill-in story, which takes place prior to the events of Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man 88
- Brothers Willard and Gunther are breaking in to train cars, and Spider-Man steps in to stop them
- Gunther shoots at him, hitting a tank labeled "chemical waste", which between the liquid and fumes gets on Spidey
- After capturing the two, Willard gives Spider-Man a fake sob story about a wife and kids, and he gets let go
- Gunther, on the other hand, is taken to the police
- The next day, Peter is still suffering from a migraine, caused by the chemicals
- Peter sees on the news that both Willard and Gunther hit a charity event the previous day, and got away with $50,000
- As Spider-Man attempts to interrogate some thugs at Josie's Bar, his head blazes with pain
- Fortunately the cops show up before the thugs can take advantage of the situation
- Willard returns to his apartment to find Gunther waiting with a gun - He tries to kill Willard, but decides he's going to have fun with the whole thing, and let's the scared man run
- Willard runs an ad in the Bugle begging Spider-Man for help
- As Gunther continues to torment Willard by just appearing around him, Peter see's the ad in the paper
- Seeing the ad himself, Gunther ambushes Willard, but Spider-Man does show up, and takes care of the would be killer
- Spider-Man tells Willard that there's still a matter of the money, and he ultimately does the right thing, confessing, returning the money, and implicating Gunther with him
- Days later, the effects of the chemicals wear off
- Pointless
Oddities
- As Peter continues to be ill from the chemicals, his biggest concern is that it's affecting his spidey sense - Not that he might die or anything from being dowsed in hazardous chemical waste
