- Mary Jane suggests Peter have the punks who burnt his apartment up arrested, but he doesn't know their names to press charges
- Spider-Man is on the case, hunting down the thugs
- Reno asks his brother Hector to take care of Spider-Man once and for all, and is told no way
- G. David Guntley of The Times calls Peter, and asks him to pose for a photo for their Crime Buster of the Month column, which he declines until offered $1,000.00
- When J. Jonah Jameson learns about the article, he reams out Robbie Robertson for not putting their own employee on the front page of the Bugle
- The gang is arrested, and Peter Parker and Miss Kwan are asked to identify them - The scared Laundromat owner backs out, and runs off
- Even though his place is in shambles, Mrs. Muggins still hounds Peter for his rent, and in a fit of rage, he hands over the entire $1,000.00, actually putting him ahead on his rent for several months
- Hector bails the boys out, and they call Peter at the Bugle to harass him
- Enraged, Spider-Man goes after them intent on stopping the nonsense once and for all
- Hector tells his brother that while he won't off Spider-Man, he's going to go take care of Peter for him
- The gang panics, as they realize they'll be immediately tied to the murder, and go back to prison
- As Spider-Man catches up with the gang on the streets, Mary Jane heads to Peter's apartement to wait for him, neither knowing that Hector is waiting inside to kill the first person to walk through the door
- Spider-Man arrives just in time to save Mary Jane, who runs out and calls the cops
- Meanwhile the gang charges in, pleading with Hector to stop, with Reno apologizing for starting everything
- Reference is made to Jean DeWolff's murder, and how Spider-Man helped solve it
- Peter drops the charges on the kids, which doesn't sit well with the folks mustering up crime patrols in the name of Peter Parker
