Highlights

  • First appearance of Wolfgang Von Lundt, Bert, and the henchmen, Keith and Jonas
  • Reference is made to Web Of Spider-Man 6, Marvel Team-Up 120, and Avengers 288
  • We get a brief flashback of Dominic Fortune, before fast forwarding to the present, where he's being chased by a bunch of thugs
  • Spider-Man shows up as the fight breaks out, and after mopping up the crooks, whisks Fortune off to the hospital
  • Peter goes to the hospital the next day to get photos of Fortune, and learns that his son isn't happy with him, wanting him to move in with them, and lead a quiet life
  • Peter suggests Aunt May's home, but Fortune declines
  • Fortune says he wants to spend the rest of his life living adventurously, and searching for a woman named Sabbath
  • Von Lundt seeks out Shocker to hire him to kill Fortune - Finally, a classic villain returns to the Spider-Man series
  • Fortune enlists the help of Peter to find Sabbath, and using the Bugle's archives, picks up her trail in Europe
  • Shocker ambushes Fortune at the airport, but fortunately, Peter was there trying to convince him not to go, and springs into action as Spider-Man
  • Shocker has upgraded his costume, no longer needing his wrist gauntlets to shoot lightning from his hands
  • As Shocker turns his attention fully to Spider-Man, Von Lundt's men arrive on the scene, intent on finishing Fortune
  • When Shocker is caught, he confidently thinks that Von Lundt will keep him out of jail, or join him in a cell if the contract they signed comes to light
  • Von Lundt has the entire building where Shocker lived blown up to cover all tracks
