- Mark Scarlotti is also at the convention looking for a job, but his past is deterring this from happening
- When Mark see's Iron Man, he thinks back to when the hero defeated him as his alter ego, Whiplash, and again when he changed to Blacklash
- Mark thinks this would be a good opportunity to catch Iron Man off guard, defeat him, and in turn get back in with the Maggia - He decides against the thought, and instead leaves
- Mark returns home to his parent's bakery, and asks his mother to give him a job - She tells him no, and that he has to leave
- Mark gets a beer poured on his head at a local bar, and then he's thrown out
- Mark takes a job with the Maggia to take care of Lawrence Eiben for thwarting their hacking ring
- First, he returns to the bar as Blacklash to extract revenge for the bullying
- Blacklash gets defeated again by the duo of Iron Man and Spider-Man
- Mark's lawyer attempts to get him to plea insanity - Mark refuses, and when he asks about his mom, is informed she isn't coming, and wants nothing to do with him
- As Mark's lawyer leaves, he shows that he clearly isn't okay in the head, as the story wraps up with him talking to himself about his mom coming to see him as a tears fall from his eyes
