- The story immediately kicks into action, picking up where the last issue left off with Wrecker, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman battling
- On the verge of defeat, Spider-Man grabs Spider-Woman, and the two retreat, but not before Spidey hits Wrecker with a spider tracer
- Wrecker and the Wrecking Crew's origin is summarized
- Wrecker still wants to see his mom, but can't decide if he's willing to give up his powers
- First, he feels he owes it to his crew to break them out of prison
- Laying in bed, his mother receives another $10,000 money order, but says it will go in the drawer with the rest, uncashed
- All she wants his her son to go straight before she dies
- Spider-Woman calls Clemons, and is told that she already has a new assignment, and needs to catch a specific bus in two hours
- Spider-Man tells her that since he can't get a hold of the Avengers or Fantastic Four, that it's up to them to stop Wrecker - Spider-Woman says she's not going to get involved
- Wrecker busts his mates out, but won't give them back their powers
- Spider-Woman goes to see Wrecker's mother, and she leaves the heroine with a letter to give to her son just before dying
- Reference is made to The Amazing Spider-Man 248
- Thunderball, Piledriver, and Bulldozer are all plotting to steal their powers back from Wrecker, but little do the two of them know, Thunderball intends on taking it all for himself
- As Thunderball ambushes Wrecker, and begins draining his power, Spider-Man bursts onto the scene
- Splitting the power 50 / 50, the two team up against him, while Bulldozer and Piledriver run for the hills
- After knocking Spider-Man unconscious, Thunderball turns his attention to Wrecker, beating him down, and stealing his powers fully
- This doesn't last long, and Wrecker soon drains it all back from Thunderball
- With all the power back, Wrecker gives Spider-Man one chance to leave, telling him that he'll forget his grudge with both him and Spider-Woman
- Spidey doesn't take the offer, and is soon felled unconscious again
- As Wrecker prepares to deal a death blow to Spidey, Spider-Woman intervenes, and gives him the letter from his dead mother
- The letter contains all the money orders, an explanation as to why she never cashed them, and a final plea for him to change his ways
- Wrecker simply walks away, stating he no longer cares about anything
- Spider-Woman returns to her handler, late, having missed the bus, and is informed she's botched another mission, and if she continues to do so will be a fugitive forever
