The Dukes of Hazzard (Mego)

It's a shame that people are so touchy these days that even a Dodge Charger known as the General Lee can come under fire from overly sensitive folks. It's gotten to the point that merchandise of the General Lee with the Confederate Battle Flag will never again be produced. Furthermore, the show has been yanked from syndication on most broadcasting networks, labeled as insensitive. Sad times.

Don't get us wrong. We're not about slavery or the confederates in general, but what we do respect is history, and iconic / nostalgic memorabilia. To us, the addition of the Confederate Flag on the General Lee is as essential as the red and yellow "S" on Superman's shirt.

Here's a novel idea - If the General Lee's paint job offends you, then just don't buy it. Mind blowing how simple the solution to the problem is.

Well, let us step off our soapbox, and get to the point of this post - Mego's 1981 action figure line.

Eight figures in total were produced, and what's great about them is that they're one of Mego's first forays into the fully articulated world of action figures as opposed to the standard five points. These more so resemble the quality of the forthcoming G.I. Joe line than that of the highly popular Star Wars figures of the time.

Daisy Duke*Luke Duke*Sheriff Rosco Coltrane*Uncle Jesse

Mego rounded out the series with numerous vehicles - Some of which came packed with the figures you could purchase individually on cards. It's always great when you can get a couple figures with a vehicle, and even better when it saves you money on buying them individually.
